When you create an account or use the SportsDataAPI platform, we may collect the following types of information:

Account Information — Email address, name, and password when you register for an account.

Usage Data — API request logs, endpoints accessed, timestamps, and request volumes for service monitoring and billing.

Payment Information — Billing details processed securely through our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Technical Data — IP addresses, browser type, device information, and cookies for analytics and security purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to provide, maintain, and improve our services. This includes authenticating API requests, processing payments, sending service notifications, monitoring platform performance, preventing abuse or unauthorized access, and responding to support inquiries.

We may send you product updates and announcements related to the SportsDataAPI platform. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data. All data transmissions are encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. API keys are hashed and stored securely. Our infrastructure is hosted on SOC 2 compliant providers with regular security audits.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We encourage users to protect their API keys and report any suspected unauthorized access immediately.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. API usage logs are retained for 90 days for billing and monitoring purposes. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services for payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, and analytics. These providers have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data. We select providers that meet our data protection standards and only share the minimum information necessary to provide our services.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You may also have the right to restrict or object to certain processing activities. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@sportsdataapi.com.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process personal data under the legal bases of contract performance, legitimate interests, and consent where applicable. We comply with GDPR requirements for data transfers outside the EEA.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our website. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the platform.
